Executive Bio for John McSpadden, Founder and Managing Partner
John is the founder of ESG and has over 16 years of search experience. Prior to founding ESG, he started his career with Management Recruiters International (MRI), where he ranked in the top 10 search consultants globally out of 2,500. After leaving MRI, he founded a separate search firm, Mac & Associates, which would go on to be ranked as a top 25 search firm in Texas and eventually was acquired by a top 5 global executive retained search firm.
John prides himself on being a student of the search industry and is always looking for a more creative approach to assist his clients. To date, John has placed more than 300 Partners and leaders within CPA, Advisory and Consulting Firms across the U.S. and abroad. Additionally, he has been involved in over 100 C-Suite and underlying VP/Director searches with private equity/portfolio companies. A few notable searches have included a Global Consulting Leader for global CPA Firm, a National Managing Principal for a tier 1 consulting firm, and a CFO for a $1.8B private equity backed company (which later sold for $3B).
In launching ESG, John wanted to build an innovative firm that was not a traditional “run of the mill” search firm. He feels to be a great search firm you should be great in all areas of search, whereas most search firms only specialize in one type of search. ESG is proud to say that they can deliver on Executive Search, Interim/Staffing Solutions, as well as Outsourcing/Co-Sourcing search work with clients.
Personally, John is married to his high school sweetheart and has four great children. He resides in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area and enjoys spending time with family, coaching youth sports, and is always looking for a new sporting event to be a part of.
